What's the Issue?

I know I haven’t posted anything recently and frankly have been MIA. I haven’t even been on the internet much lately except to check my email so I haven’t even been keeping up with much news either. But tonight a friend brought a disturbing article to my attention. After wiping the large tears from my cheeks I decided I needed to post about it.

I don’t even really know what to say about this. I honestly can’t even understand how people think this way. Is killing people off by placing them within electrified fences really your solution Charles L. Worley? Last time I checked this wasn’t Nazi Germany and I think the world would agree that something like that should never happen again. 

I just wish there was something that could be said that would magically make everyone accept everyone else. We are born who we are and its not fair that we have to go through life trying to defend ourselves for whatever reason, whether its for being gay, for being non-christian, or for anything else that makes us who we are. 

I just hope that come election time everyone goes out and votes, we need Obama to stay in office before, as my friend said, the republicans start forming lynch mobs.

A little back story first.

I am a cislady who identifies as queer. I am attracted to basically everyone, all gender identities and sexes and I don’t believe in the gender binary. I have been with a whoooole range of people and I have been sexually active since the (regrettably) young age of 13.

My parter and I have been together for almost 3 years and I think the phrase ‘opposites attract’ applies to us.

Yesterday Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley signed the bill extending marriage rights to gay and lesbian couples. State number 7…43 more to go!
